What is lifecasting?
Lifecasting is the process of creating a detailed, three dimensional representation of a person's hands created using a mold taken directly from the individual's hands. This process captures intricate details, providing a realistic and personalized sculpture that can serve as a meaningful keepsake or art piece. These castings are then perfected, painted, sealed and mounted into a high quality presentation for display in the recipients home as a bespoke keepsake item.
Is lifecasting safe?
When creating molds for the lifecasting process, Ambrosia Lifecasting uses alginate that is specifically formulated for use with babies. It is soft, odorless and very gentle. Derived from seaweed and biodegradable, it is also safe for the environment.
How long will my lifecasting appointment take?
Appointments with Ambrosia Lifecasting take one hour or less. We will follow the needs of the baby. If they need a break to be fed, changed or cuddled, we will go at the pace they allow. Molds can be made while the baby is sleeping, eating or even being held and bounced! It only takes 3 minutes for the mold material to set.
Where is the appointment held?
Appointments are held in the artists home studio in Fairfield OH. Accessible within a 30 minute drive of anywhere in the greater Cincinnati area, it is a warm, clean and inviting space to create these remarkable keepsakes on your previous loved ones.
When will I receive my keepsake?
Turnaround time is 4-6 weeks. There are many steps in the process to creating these museum quality keepsakes. Each step requires the appropriate amount of curing and drying time which contributes to this lead time. In order to properly create sculptures that will stand the test of time there are not shortcuts.

Do you have gift certificates for lifecasting keepsakes?
Ambrosia Lifecasting offers gift certificates in a variety of amounts. This enables the buyer to simply contribute to the overall cost of a session or cover the entire cost. If you are expecting mother, father, parent or grandparent in the Cincinnati area, this is a great item to put on your gift registry for your baby shower. This unique keepsake is a gift that will be a treasured family heirloom. Gift certificates never expire. Gift certificates are sent via email directly after purchase and you choose if it is emailed to the purchaser or the gift recipient.
What are the payment terms?
Each appointment requires a $50 deposit at booking. 50% of your remaining balance is due at your appointment. The remaining 50% is due at the time you collect your keepsake.
